Rodney Woodward check mark next to Quintin Berry’s name on his 2013 APBA card must mean he really liked this card. Rodney suggested him for a Monster Monday and he certainly qualifies. He also has some result numbers that I have never seen so he landed here on Weird Wednesday.
Berry followed a slightly different path than a lot of Monster card players. He actually played a half season in his rookie year. It was his sophomore year after he was traded to Boston when playing time dipped prompting this strange card.
Berry appeared in nine games and went 5 for 8 with one homerun and three stolen bases. He scored five runs and drove in four.

Count the 11s! There are a total of seven. He has them at the conventional spot like 15, 25, 31, and 51 (I’ll even throw in 55 ala Maury Wills) but Berry has an 11 at 33 and at 35 too.
And don’t forget about the homerun that Berry hit. To represent that, he received a 66-1 and am 11-5. Strictly speaking, he could have gotten four 1s to adequately recreate his one homer in nine plate appearances but APBA sometimes frowns on too many first column ones for fear of misuse.
thanks, Rodney!!
“Q” was something of a fan favorite the year before in Detroit.
Wow and I thought my Tim Raines and Jason Bourgeois cards were speedy. This man puts them to shame. Quintin actually plays for my local independent league Long Island Ducks. So I get to watch him play regularly this season!
