Rumors are flyin’ about 2020 rookie APBA drafts!

I’m hearing this second hand but news of the 2020 NAPBA rookie draft reached my phone this morning.

Rumor has it that the top five picks of the Minneapolis-based NAPBA League draft went as follows:

  1. Fernando Tatis Jr.
  2. Pete Alonso
  3. Yordan Alvarez
  4. Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
  5. Chris Paddack

This is relevant to me because in one week, the Illowa APBA League will be conducting its 2020 rookie draft to begin its 45th season. According to my “source”, the NAPBA League has very similar eligibility rules to our league.

Not that I have a chance for any of these guys in the IAL. My first pick is the 10th pick in the draft. Right now, my focus is on the 2019 postseason which will conclude on Friday hopefully with a World Series victory

Good luck to the managers in the NAPBA League this season!

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
