Bridesburg APBA League: Ian McArdle’s Convicts escape with another championship in 2015

Brian Cavanaugh checks in with an update from the Bridesburg APBA League.  This league which sprung out of the Bridesburg Boys and Girls Club that Brian has worked for, is now approaching its seventh year.

Brian writes:

Finally, after 6 seasons, my Senators are finally able to win a playoff game and advance all the way to the championship game behind the stellar pitching of mid-season acquisition Jake Arrietta and the clutch hitting of Corey Dickerson only to fall to fellow original league member Ian McArdle  and his band of Convicts who slugged their way to a convincing 12-3 championship game victory behind the heavy hitting of Yasiel Puig and Troy Tulowitzki (and pretty good pitcher by the name of Clayton Kershaw).

Some other exciting news out of the Bridesburg Boys and Girls Club:

We were given a night during the fall/winter/spring night time program and are in the midst of a season using the 1999 season cards (this offensive season has proved some pretty devastating lineups).

We have also began the inaugural Bridesburg APBA Hockey League. We have just 6 members at this point, but we have each played about 5 games. We are using some modifications but we are having a blast playing and learning the many nuances of the game as we go.

Congrats to Ian and the rest of the Bridesburg APBA League for another successful season.

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

One Comment:

  1. Awesome stuff! I love reading the league summaries to see how other players do their league set ups/stats ect…
Think that it’s really cool that younger boys/girls are interested & engaged in APBA!
