The 2024 TBL Annual is out! This one is worth the read!

Walter Hunt sent me the new 2024 Transcontinental Baseball League Annual that has just been released. As always, it is impeccably packaged and well worth the read. I spend a fair amount of time reviewing it this morning. Walter along with co-editors Robert Jordan and Mark H. Bloom did a fantastic job.

An example of the TBL Annual’s excellence

I know I always encourage you all to read these kinds of things but this one has a few features that that are really relevant. I really was intrigued by Paul Montague’s article, ‘Who are we anyway?’ about the history of the TBL. Paul writes about the early days of TBL when three guys in college started playing not realizing (or even intending) this league would last for decades. Paul goes into detail on what made it possible for the TBL to last so long.

This is a relevant article for anyone in a serious APBA league. Great piece, Paul!

I also was a bit interested in TBL’s upcoming Hall of Fame election. I know I don’t have a vote but I’d pull the lever for Will Clark, Andy Pettitte and Robinson Cano.

Thanks for sending this in, Walt! I know this is a team effort. Great work by everyone.

Thomas Nelshoppen

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
