Don’t forget to cast your ballot in the 2023 PGC!

So far, the 2023 APBA Blog Pitching Grade Challenge is off to a good start! I’m receiving plenty of ballots every day.

If you HAVEN’T yet voted, this is a friendly reminder. It’s not too late too late to cast your Pitching Grade Challenge ballot! There are two weeks left.

It only takes a few minutes to do. Click here for more information on how to vote.

A few PGC behind-the-scenes tidbits of trivia

  • Dan Bunch was the first to submit his ballot in the last two Pitching Grade Challenges.
  • Not surprisingly, I use Baseball Reference to help select the twenty pitchers on the ballot. I can easily export the pitching stats to a spreadsheet. Sorting and filtering the data on my chosen criteria is a breeze from there.
  • The PGC template logo this year includes an edited photo of the back of Kyle Schwarber’s 2022 APBA card.
  • Some APBA fans submit their ballot at ungodly hours.
  • In each of the six years of the Pitching Grade Challenge, I’ve included one pitcher from my Illowa APBA League team (it hasn’t helped their grade).

Good luck this year!!

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
