So far, the 2023 APBA Blog Pitching Grade Challenge is off to a good start! I’m receiving plenty of ballots every day.
If you HAVEN’T yet voted, this is a friendly reminder. It’s not too late too late to cast your Pitching Grade Challenge ballot! There are two weeks left.
It only takes a few minutes to do. Click here for more information on how to vote.
A few PGC behind-the-scenes tidbits of trivia
- Dan Bunch was the first to submit his ballot in the last two Pitching Grade Challenges.
- Not surprisingly, I use Baseball Reference to help select the twenty pitchers on the ballot. I can easily export the pitching stats to a spreadsheet. Sorting and filtering the data on my chosen criteria is a breeze from there.
- The PGC template logo this year includes an edited photo of the back of Kyle Schwarber’s 2022 APBA card.
- Some APBA fans submit their ballot at ungodly hours.
- In each of the six years of the Pitching Grade Challenge, I’ve included one pitcher from my Illowa APBA League team (it hasn’t helped their grade).
Good luck this year!!
