Join us for the 2025 Chicagoland Summer APBA Baseball Tournament on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Am-Vets Post 66, 700 McHenry Road, Wheeling, IL. Doors open at 8 AM, with games starting at 9 AM. The $40 entry fee includes coffee, kringle, snacks, lunch, and prizes. A cash bar will be available.

This year’s theme, “I Wish I Knew You When I Was Young,” features any non-retired team from 1905–1970. Tournament rules include a 4-man rotationpitchers bat, and relief pitching capped at 2 innings per appearance. Special rules apply to starting pitchers used in relief and split-grade pitchers. New for 2025: when all relief pitchers are used and games enter the 13th inning, all pitchers become a D(W).

We currently have 43 participants and would love for you to join us! Enjoy an optional Friday night gathering and a post-tournament dinner on Saturday for players and family.

Personally, I will attest to how much fun the Chicagoland tourney is. I’ve attended almost every year and it is a blast.

Here are photos from last year’s affair:

Good luck to all who attend!

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
