Kate Silvis and the 2013 Pirates win Greater Michigan!

Congratulations to Kate Silvis who took the 2013 Pittsburgh Pirates to the Greater Michigan APBA Baseball Tournament and won it all! She defeated Eric Berg’s 2006 Minnesota Twins in a 16-inning 5-1 battle.

From all reports, the GMABT was an incredibly fun event but I expected nothing less from Pastor Rich. By my count, there were 56 participants in the Jackson, Michigan tournament.

There was an added component in that Stray Corrado kept the updated at the tournament website. This is something that I really like to see. Great job, Stray!

Pastor Rich has already scheduled GMABT 2021. Mark your calendar for March 6, 2021! You can sign up on the GMABT Facebook page or the GMABT website.

Congrats to Kate and well done, Rich!

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
