Save the bullpen for Bill! My 1985 Expos lineup for Chicagoland

In just eight hours, at 2:30am, I’ll be on my way to the Chicagoland Summer APBA Baseball Tournament.

I cobbled together a lineup for my ‘Spos. In actuality, I went to Baseball Reference’s Batting Orders feature to see what manager Buck Rogers did. I had to use a lineup that did not include Dan Driessen since his card is not included with Expos team.

This is what I came up with…

Lineup

  1. Raines LF-2
  2. Law 2B-7
  3. Dawson RF-2
  4. Brooks SS-8
  5. Wallach 3B-5
  6. Webster CF-2
  7. Francona 1B-4
  8. Fitzgerald C-6

The strength for my team is the pitching especially since the tournament rule enforce a three-man rotation.

Rotation

  1. Bryn Smith BYZ
  2. Joe Hesketh BYZ
  3. Bill Gullickson CZ

I have a decent bullpen too.

Bullpen

  • Tim Burke AYZ
  • Gary Lucas BZ
  • Jeff Reardon BXZ

For those going to Chicago, I’m looking forward to seeing you all!

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

  1. Tim Raines from Sanford, Florida, baby … my alma mater, Seminole High School. He was a legend before he hit the majors.
