The APBA Blog Events page is up!

chicagolandIt’s about time I got around doing this.  With the prevalence of APBA tournaments in the past few years, I thought it would nice to have a one stop shop to find them listed.

What I’ve done

I’ve  installed a calendar plugin so that we can view all APBA related tournaments and events in a list view or calendar view.  You can click on each event for for more information about that event.

You can see The APBA Blog Events page here.  As an example, here is the Chicagoland APBA Tournament event page.

What this is intended for

  • Any APBA competitive tournament which is open to the public
  • Any APBA related event of significance to APBA players.

I’m still working on some of the formatting and design issues but it seems to be working fine.  The calendar allows each event to feature the date, time and description of the event.  It even incorporates Google Maps to pinpoint where the event takes place.

If anyone has suggestions how this could be used better or encounters any bugs in the plugin, leave a comment below.  Also, I encourage tournament organizers to make sure my information is correct and up to date.

And of course, if anyone is organizing any future tournaments, please let me know.

Thomas Nelshoppen

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
