Thanks to Scott Fennessy for passing on this Sherry Magee card from the 1904 season set which was published in 2013. Magee had a pretty decent year in part-time work for the last place Phils in 1904.
Year | G | PA | AB | R | H | 2B | 3B | HR | RBI | SB | BB | SO | BA | OBP | SLG |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1904 | 95 | 387 | 364 | 51 | 101 | 15 | 12 | 3 | 57 | 11 | 14 | 23 | .277 | .308 | .409 |
Sherry Magee didn’t walk much (14 BB in 387 PA). In fact, he almost had as many triples. Magee reached third on a hit twelve times in ‘04. That’s why he has a 66-3 AND an 11-3. Those two threes will get him a triple with bases empty.
Magee garners a 44-7 and a 15-11 which is equivalent to a 55-7. He only batted .277 but as I mentioned, Sherry didn’t take many pitches. He only received one 14. While that’s not preferable, that gives him more overall hit numbers (see my Quick and Dirty Guide to estimate what a card will hit).
Thanks, Scott!
